mDraft

Privacy notice

Effective: 4 May 2026

This notice explains how mDraft may process data. The data controller is whoever hosts and operates this deployment.

  1. 1.Overview

Most editing happens locally on your device. Network data transfers occur only when you use optional sharing, AI features, or when loading the app from a server. Opening a shared read-only link in the browser is separate.

  2. 2.Hosting and Logs

The web server may retain brief access logs (IP address, timestamp, etc.). Purpose: security and stable operation (legal basis: legitimate interests).

  3. 3.Local Storage

Drafts, language preference, theme, and consent flags may be stored in local storage; you can remove them from your browser settings.

  4. 4.AI Assistant (optional)

This feature is only available in the desktop app; not in the browser-only editor. When enabled, instructions and Markdown content are sent to a configured third-party AI service. The legal basis is typically explicit consent.

  5. 5.Cloud Sharing (optional)

This feature is only available from the desktop app. Publishing or loading content exchanges data with the server and stores it temporarily. Opening an existing share link in the browser uses the same infrastructure. Anyone with the link can view the content.

  6. 6.PDF Export

PDF files are generated locally on your device in most cases and are not automatically uploaded to the server.

  7. 7.Ads (optional)

The editor web edition can display ads via Google AdSense. Ad scripts are loaded only after your consent and can be disabled from the same place. Technical identifiers and usage data may be transferred to Google during ad delivery.

  8. 8.Your Rights

Where personal data applies, data subjects generally have GDPR rights Arts. 15–22 and may lodge complaints with supervisory authorities (Art. 77 GDPR). Contact the operator of your deployment.
